KUCHING: Community-based organisation Team Dynamic Kuching reached out to senior citizens through its “Warmth on the 15th” community care initiative held yesterday, coinciding with the 15th day of the 12th lunar month.
According to a press release, the initiative saw the distribution of 100 vegetarian meal packs and 100 ang pow to eligible elderly recipients.

Team Dynamic Kuching leader Eric Tay said one of the most memorable moments of the programme was assisting a 112-year-old woman, whom he described as being in remarkably good health for her age.
“She is not only admirable for her longevity but also inspiring in terms of her physical condition,” he said, adding that several other recipients were aged over 90, creating what he described as a heartwarming scene for volunteers and organisers alike.
Tay noted that the presence of many elderly individuals living well into advanced age reflected Sarawakians’ emphasis on health and well-being as well as broader improvements in healthcare that allow people to age with dignity.
He added that the smooth execution of the programme was made possible through the combined efforts of community leaders, volunteers and members of the organisation, whose teamwork ensured assistance reached those who needed it.
Expressing hope that the initiative would inspire wider community involvement, Tay said such efforts were not only about material support but also about nurturing a more compassionate society.
He added that Team Dynamic Kuching remains committed to caring for the elderly and plans to organise more public welfare activities in the future to strengthen community bonds and promote positive social values.
