SIBU: Team Marzuq Damai emerged champions of the Sarawak Closed Doubles Darts Competition 2025 Prof Dr Tunza Cup, held in Saratok yesterday.

Team Kasinja Gertak finished as runner-up, while Ezzy and Gagogank 888 shared third place.

In the Silver Plated category, Kasoul 1 took home the champion title, followed by KSDS Speta as runner-up, with Marzuq A&A and KSDS Azmiey jointly placing third.

Special prizes were also awarded to TSC King’z for Highest Check Out (121 and above), Kasoul BZ for Most 180’s, and King’z for Fastest Check (under 15 darts).

The competition attracted 83 teams involving 116 participants from across Sarawak, making it one of the largest darts events held in Saratok this year.

The tournament’s opening ceremony was officiated by Prof Dr Tunza Mohd Riduan, who in his speech emphasised the importance of fighting spirit and resilience as keys to success in both sports and life.

“Remember one thing, you only lose when you give up. As long as your mind does not give up, every failure is an opportunity to rise up and become stronger,” he said.

He also urged participants to make teamwork the foundation of success, stressing that sports not only strengthen social relationships but also stimulate local economic growth.

“This competition is not just a sporting arena, but also a catalyst for social and economic development in Saratok. Well done to all the players and teams who showed great sportsmanship.

“To become a shining star, we must break the chains that bind us. Whatever you dream of, you can achieve if you can imagine it,” he added.

The event was hosted by the Saratok Darts Sports Club in conjunction with the 2025 National Sports Day celebration.
