KUCHING: Sarawak is strengthening its global positioning through the upcoming Tee.F.Dee 2026 festival, aimed at advancing creative industry collaboration and cultural diplomacy.

The multi-industry event, scheduled from May 21 to 23 at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK), will integrate art, technology, music, crafts, and trade.

“This initiative is more than a festival; it is a strategic platform,” said Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak (MTCP), Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.

He said that Tee.F.Dee reflects Sarawak’s ambition to become a regional hub for innovation-driven industries while strengthening cross-border cultural and economic partnerships.

“The programme is expected to attract international investors, regional buyers, and creative professionals, reinforcing Sarawak’s role in the global creative economy landscape,” he said.

He said this in a press conference of The Friendship Diplomatic at Level 17, Baitulmakmur 2 here today.

Among its key targets are boosting tourism growth towards five million visitor arrivals, generating trade opportunities and empowering small and medium enterprises alongside local artisans.

The event is also seen as a platform to enhance diplomatic ties through creative economy exchanges, fostering collaboration between nations in cultural and commercial sectors.

“Strong coordination among all agencies is essential to ensure smooth execution and deliver a world-class experience.” said Abdul Karim

He called on all involved agencies, including protocol, security, immigration, customs, and logistics teams, to break silos and work cohesively towards shared objectives.

Abdul Karim added that seamless facilitation for international delegates would reflect Sarawak’s renowned hospitality and organisational excellence on the global stage.

The minister expressed confidence that the inaugural coordination meeting would produce actionable plans and clear direction for the successful implementation of the event.

He stressed that Tee.F.Dee has the potential to serve as a catalyst in elevating Sarawak’s leadership and visibility in international creative and diplomatic arenas.
