KOTA SAMARAHAN: A teenager died of suspected electrocution while attempting to cut wires at a telecommunication substation at Kampung Senaggeh, Sadong Jaya on Today (Dec 13).
Kota Samarahan OCPD DSP Brodie Brangka said Asajaya police received information around 12.40pm regarding the discovery of an unconscious individual at the site.
“A police team was deployed to the scene and they found a fully clothed male individual lying near the fence.
“It was believed that the 18-year-old victim tried to cut the wires at the substation.”
No signs of foul play were found at the scene and the body was taken to Sarawak General Hospital for post-mortem.
A background check found that the victim was a local and had five priors for burglary, theft and drugs.
Brodie added that the case had been classified as sudden death.
