BAU: A 13-year-old boy is feared to have drowned at Sungai Libiki Bamboo Resort here today.
According to the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), an emergency call was received at 1.44 pm, prompting the deployment of a team from the Bau fire station.
“Upon arrival, personnel carried out a size-up at the location where the victim was believed to have gone missing,” it said in a statement.
The department added that its Water Rescue Unit (PPDA) was deployed at 2.00 pm to assist in the search operation.
“Rescuers, fully equipped with personal protective equipment (PPE), conducted a water surface search within a 20-metre radius from where the victim was last seen,” it said.
As of press time, the victim has yet to be found and search operations are ongoing.
