BAU: A teenage boy died on the spot after his motorcycle skidded and collided into a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) yesterday.
According to Bau police chief DSP Poge Nyaon, the fatal accident occurred around 7.30pm along KM18, Jalan Bau-Serikin.
“Investigations revealed that the collision occurred while the 16-year-old boy from Kampung Duyoh was riding his motorcycle from Bau to Kampung Serikin.
“Later, the victim’s motorcycle skipped into the oncoming lane and struck the MPV travelling from Serikin to Kuching,” he said.
As a result, the teenager was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics, and his body was taken to Bau Hospital for post-mortem.
The case is still investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, Poge added.
