KOTA SAMARAHAN: A motorcyclist was killed after being hit by an oncoming car along KM3, Jalan Datuk Mohd Musa last night (Apr 5).
The crash, involving a Honda Dash motorcycle and a Proton Persona, happened around 9.30 pm near Kampung Sindang.
Kota Samarahan police chief Supt Damataries Lautin said the victim was riding from Kampung Baru to Desa Ilmu when the accident occurred.
“Investigations found that the victim’s motorcycle suddenly swerved out of control and crashed. The victim was later thrown onto the other lane where an oncoming Persona, driven by a 25-year-old soldier, crashed into him.
“As a result, the victim identified as Mohamad Along Abdullah, 18, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics,” he said.
His body was later sent to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) for further action.
Damataries said the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
