KUCHING:  A four-day Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (TEGAS) Fundraising Accelerator will be held here next month to equip local start-up founders with strategies, knowledge, and investor-readiness skills needed to secure funding and scale their businesses.

Held in collaboration with Malaysia’s leading equity crowdfunding platform, pitchIN, it will be hosted at TEGAS Digital Village from September 8-11.

It will guide participants through every stage of the fundraising process, from understanding funding types and preparing a compelling pitch deck to navigating due diligence and post-funding investor relations.

Founders will also engage directly with angel investors, venture capitalists, and successful entrepreneurs through interactive panels and networking sessions.

“We’re on a mission to shape Sarawak’s next generation of high-impact entrepreneurs. By equipping them with expert-led training, direct access to investor networks, and real-world fundraising know-how, we’re empowering our startups to grow, expand, and make their mark on the global stage,” said Deputy Minister for Urban Planning, Land Administration, and Environment, and Chairman of TEGAS, Datuk Len Talif Salleh, in a press statement on Tuesday.

He added that as the accelerator enters its fourth year, the programme will serve as a powerful springboard for local businesses to sharpen their fundraising strategies while building meaningful relationships with investors and industry leaders.

“Our aim is to empower Sarawakian startups to reach new milestones and fully realise their potential,” he said.

The programme will be delivered by pitchIN’s seasoned team, including co-founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Sam Shafie; Vice-President, Commercial and Product, Nicholas Chong; and Head of Equity Crowdfunding, Lai Kai Bin, alongside experienced legal, investment, and growth advisers.

Their expertise spans venture capital, startup acceleration, legal compliance, and investor engagement.

“Fundraising goes far beyond delivering a pitch. It’s about preparation, strategy, and building the right relationships, and this accelerator is designed to demystify the process so founders can confidently position themselves as compelling opportunities for investors,” said Sam Shafie.

The programme is open to startup founders, CEOs and senior management from Malaysia-incorporated companies seeking growth funding.

To qualify, applicants must be registered businesses operating for at least 12 months with a proven track record, and each startup must have at least one Sarawakian co-founder.

Registration is now open, with limited slots available to ensure personalised mentorship and engagement.
