KUCHING: The proposed Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (TEGAS) Lodge, a new development, is set for completion by 2027.

According to Deputy Minister of Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment and TEGAS Chairman, Datuk Len Talif Salleh, the RM70 million project will feature a hotel, wellness centre, spa, digital gym, and other comprehensive facilities.

“TEGAS Lodge Sarawak will not only serve the people of Sarawak but also digital nomads from around the world.

“The development aims to position Sarawak as a global hub for digital innovation, entrepreneurship, and talent development,” he said during TEGAS’ 13th Anniversary Celebration and Staff Appreciation Dinner at TEGAS Digital Village on Saturday night (Feb 22).

“Over the past 13 years, TEGAS has played a key role in promoting TVET and STEM education while nurturing Sarawak’s startup and innovation ecosystem, in line with the Sarawak Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030.

“One of the major milestones was the establishment of the TEGAS Digital Village. The journey began in 2017 when the Sarawak government allocated RM30 million for the project. Despite challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, the Digital Village was successfully launched in November 2022.

“Without the continuous support of the Sarawak government, we would not have achieved what we have today,” he said.

Also present were Meradong assemblyman and TEGAS Trust Board member Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing and his wife, Balingian assemblyman and Tegas Trust Board member Abdul Yakub Arbi and his wife, Krian assemblyman Friday Belik, and Opar assemblyman Billy Sujang and his wife.
