KUCHING: What began as a festive Aidilfitri gathering at TEGAS Digital Village here evolved into a meeting point for Sarawak’s growing digital community.
TEGAS chairman Datuk Len Talif Salleh, together with members of the Board of Directors officiated the TEGAS Nostalgia Raya Open House here on Wednesday (Apr 9).

The event brought together media practitioners, industry players, educators and youths, reflecting the collaborative ecosystem driving the State’s digital push.
Len said such gatherings provide an opportunity to strengthen ties while amplifying ongoing initiatives through closer engagement with stakeholders, particularly the media.
“Through platforms like this, we want the media to help convey information on what TEGAS is doing together with our strategic partners, including universities and the private sector,” he said when met by reporters, adding that the Digital Village continues to attract strong interest, with its facilities currently oversubscribed.
According to Len, Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has approved more than RM70 million for the next phase of development, which will include facilities catering to digital nomads.
Len said the expansion is expected to enhance capacity and support a wider range of users, including hosting larger-scale events.
He added that collaborations with agencies such as the Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC) have also enabled the expansion of digital hubs beyond Kuching.
The increasing number of international events in Kuching, he said, is expected to further position Sarawak as a destination for digital and knowledge-based engagements.
