KUCHING: Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (TEGAS) is set to host the second edition of its Unreal Engine Motion Graphic Training Programme from Aug 11 to 15 at the TEGAS Digital Village (TDV) here.

The five-day training aims to equip Sarawakian creatives with advanced skills in real-time motion graphics creation, including 2D and 3D animation, motion design, camera animation, and real-time rendering using the world-renowned Unreal Engine platform.

Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment Deputy Minister cum TEGAS chairman Datuk Len Talif Salleh said the programme represents their commitment to driving innovation in Sarawak’s creative industry.

“By nurturing digital skills aligned with global standards, we are preparing our local talent for high-income opportunities in film, advertising, gaming, and immersive media.

“The training is aligned with Sarawak’s Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030, particularly its emphasis on education, human capital development, and digital innovation.

“Through this initiative, TDV continues to position itself as a regional hub for creative technology training, offering accessible pathways into the fast-growing digital content industry,” he said in a statement issued by TEGAS today (July 8).

Meanwhile, EFXCO Academy chief executive officer (CEO) Hussin Khan also expressed his enthusiasm for the continued collaboration with TEGAS, highlighting the programme’s growing impact.

“Motion graphics is a rapidly expanding field, particularly in sectors such as advertising, broadcast media, augmented and virtual reality, and immersive storytelling.

“With Unreal Engine’s real-time capabilities, creators are now able to streamline their workflows and produce high-quality visual content more efficiently than ever before,” he said.

For the record, this year’s programme builds upon the foundational knowledge introduced in the 2024 pilot and caters to aspiring and practicing digital artists, filmmakers, animators, and designers ready to elevate their motion content expertise.

Participants will benefit from immersive hands-on training by certified industry veterans, including contributors to Oscar-winning productions such as Life of Pi and X-Men: First Class.

The 2025 Unreal Engine Motion Graphic Training Programme will be offered to a limited group of selected participants, with priority given to individuals from underrepresented communities or those facing financial barriers.

Participants who successfully complete the programme will be awarded a certificate of attendance, officially recognized by the Unreal Engine community.
