KUCHING: Several temporary half-lane road closures have been scheduled across Kuching and Kota Samarahan from April to May to facilitate road repair works.
In a Facebook post today (Apr 13), the Sarawak Public Works Department (PWD) announced that a half-lane closure will be implemented at the Batu Kawa (Datuk Chong Kiun Kong Bridge) underpass at the junction with Batu Kawa Road.
The closure, involving the underpass road at the Datuk Chong Kiun Kong Bridge, is scheduled from Apr 15 to May 15.
In a separate notice, PWD also said another temporary half-lane closure will be implemented along Jalan Batu Kawa, from Sungai Sarawak (start of the Datuk Chong Kiun Kong Bridge) to the Batu 3 roundabout.
The affected stretch includes the route from the Jalan Field Force junction heading towards Paragon Concrete Batu Kawa, and is scheduled for the same period.
Separately, along the Jalan Kuching Outer Ring (Q13A and Q13B), a temporary half-lane closure will take place from Apr 13 to 30 for milling and resurfacing works.
Meanwhile, in Kota Samarahan, a half-lane closure will be enforced from Apr 13 to May 13 along the route linking Jalan Dato Muhammad Musa to Sungai Keranji Bridge to allow for similar repair works.
PWD advised road users to exercise caution, adhere to traffic management signage, and plan their journeys in advance to avoid congestion.
