Tender process for Jalan Council Jakar bridge upgrade to begin soon

KUCHING: The tender process for upgrading the old bridge on Jalan Council Jakar into a steel bridge—estimated to cost RM350,000—will commence soon.

The project was approved following a request by Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Deputy Minister Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii.

The Sarikei MP cum Repok assemblyman said the initiative aims to ensure the safety and convenience of local residents.

“It is understood that the estimated cost for upgrading the old bridge to a steel bridge is RM350,000. The tender process for the project will commence soon.

“The bridge serves as a main route for local residents and I hope that the upgrade project can be carried out as soon as possible for the comfort and safety of road users,” he said in a press statement today (Mar 26).

Recently, Huang visited the site to assess proposals and suitable solutions.
