KUCHING: Sarawak’s rising tennis talent, Ryoga Kho, continues to make his mark on the national circuit after another standout performance in the Tennis Malaysia Junior Tour 2025 Leg 6 in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, held from Oct 29 to Nov 2.
The 13-year-old SMK Kuching High student captured the Boys’ Under-14 Doubles title, partnering Oezil Ajib of Kuala Lumpur to defeat Selangor’s Mak Zoo-M and Pahang’s Declan Colin 4-2, 4-1 in the final.
The victory builds on the pair’s earlier success at Leg 4 in Melaka (Aug 5–9) and Ryoga’s semi-final finish at the MSSM Under-15 Doubles, cementing their position as the No. 3-ranked Under-14 boys’ doubles team in Malaysia.
Ryoga also impressed in the singles event, finishing runner-up after a thrilling three-hour battle against Mak Zoo-M, going down 7-6 (7-4), 0-6, 4-6.
Keeping the momentum in the family, 11-year-old Yoshi Kho of SJKC Stampin Kuching bagged bronze in singles and silver in doubles in the Under-12 category.
Both brothers train under coach Norhairi Khaider of the Persatuan Tenis Bumiputera Sarawak (PTBS), whose guidance has been pivotal to their consistent progress at national and international levels.
Despite limited resources, Ryoga and Yoshi’s drive – backed by their coach and PTBS, continues to highlight Sarawak’s growing presence in Malaysian junior tennis.
