KUCHING: In a performance that lived up to the hype, 17-year-old Texas Jeremy Lo delivered a first-round knockout at Rajadamnern Stadium on Saturday night (Aug 2) to announce himself in the world muaythai stage.
Fighting in the 124lbs division of the Rajadamnern World Series (RWS), the Kuching-born fighter needed less than one round to finish his Moroccan opponent, Soufiane Asffar, with a devastating knee strike — sealing the bout via KO in front of a roaring Bangkok crowd.
The win marks a dream start for Texas, who has been training at Powerhouse Phuket while continuing to represent Sarawak and Malaysia in the international combat sports arena.
Known for his explosive style and fearless approach, Texas’ emphatic victory sends a clear message to the muaythai world — a new Malaysian contender has arrived.
Texas previously scored a highlight-reel elbow knockout in May, and with this latest performance, he is quickly becoming one of the most exciting young prospects in the sport.
