BANGKOK: Texas Jeremy Lo bowed out in the quarter-finals of the men’s 63.5kg Muay Thai event at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium here today (Dec 15) after a narrow 2–1 defeat to Indonesia’s Indra Surya.
Despite the setback, the Sarawakian fighter remained positive, acknowledging his opponent’s advantages in reach and ring control.
“He was very good, especially in terms of distance. He is taller,” Texas said after the bout.
Although he fell short of the semi-finals, Texas stressed that the defeat would not dampen his motivation, vowing to step up his training and return stronger in future competitions.
“I will train harder. I was actually preparing under amateur rules, and I won’t let this loss stop me. I will work to improve and perform better in upcoming tournaments,” he added.
Texas also apologised to supporters and expressed his gratitude to his team and coaches for their unwavering support throughout the campaign.
“To all the supporters back home and where I train, I’m sorry, and I will strive to do better in the future,” he said.
