Petrus Ngalih Tingi replaces Gat Belabot as deputy chairman, Dr Stanley Abang is secretary and Alice Vynar its treasurer.

The new leadership lineup for the 2025–2028 term was announced following its 9th Annual General Meeting here on Sunday (April 6).

“We are not merely celebrating our 10th anniversary this year but also launching a new and more comprehensive strategic plan,” said Thadeus.

He added that the next three years would focus on four core areas namely education, culture, welfare, and youth development.

Among the major programmes planned are a modern agriculture course in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture, a Dayak Cultural Carnival and a youth mentorship programme.

Thadeus also emphasised SDNU’s intention to expand collaboration with government agencies, the private sector, and educational institutions to implement more community-based initiatives.

With a membership exceeding 1,000 and strong ties with Serakup Indu Dayak Sarawak (SIDS), the Kuching branch is expected to continue playing a leading role in advocating for and empowering the Dayak community in Sarawak.

It will also be sending 15 delegates to the upcoming SDNU Central Annual General Meeting.
