BANGKOK: A Thai cargo vessel operated by Siam Cement Group (SCG) has successfully passed through the Strait of Hormuz after diplomatic efforts involving Oman and Iran, Thailand’s foreign ministry updated on Sunday, reported Xinhua.

According to the ministry, one of the two vessels owned by SCG that the foreign ministry had previously requested assistance for safe passage from Iran has passed through the strait.

Thai Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow paid an official visit to Oman from April 15 to 17 to promote bilateral relations, which included seeking assistance for Thai vessels stranded in the Strait of Hormuz. -BERNAMA-XINHUA
