A sense of excitement filled the air on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in January
We gathered for a quick celebratory lunch in the vicinity of the Kuching Waterfront
Buoyed by the success of our recent excursions – we set our sights on our next adventure
The opportunity to unleash one’s adventurous spirit in our beautiful Land of the Hornbills!

Following a hearty lunch, a short drive from downtown Kuching to Jalan Tanjong Bako
From the vantage point of our car, we enjoyed the gifts of Mother Nature on a sunny afternoon!
An abundance of Nipah palm groves along Jalan Tanjong Bako – memories of a recent adventure!
An established hub for the production of Gula Apong (Nipah Palm Sugar) and Air Nira (Palm Nectar).

We arrived at our destination shortly after 2:30 PM – SEDEC Equine along Jalan Tanjong Bako
Right on our doorstep – an equestrian training centre focused on horseback archery and tent pegging.
A warm welcome by Cr. Associate Professor Dr Sopian Bujang, the founder of SEDEC Equine
With more than twelve years’ experience under his belt – an authority on the sport of tent pegging.

Our thanks to our gracious hosts Dr Sopian Bujang and his family members – a special afternoon!
There were many highlights – masterclasses covering the broad spectrum of archery and horse riding
A visit to the stable, including feeding and caring for the horses – yes, the Year of the Horse beckons!
Amidst the beautiful surroundings, the rhythmic sound of hooves aligned with the drumbeat of our hearts!
