KUCHING: AZAM Young Souls (AYS), also known as Kelab Belia AZAM Bandar Kuching, has named Theron Then as its president for the 2024-2026 term following the conclusion of its Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the 2022-2024 session.
The newly elected leadership comprises President Theron Then, Deputy President Fadzim Aiman Jalani, Vice President I Asnol Khairulzakry, Vice President II Nabiha Salleh, Secretary Muhammad Shahrizan, Deputy Secretary Mandy Chen, and Treasurer Aaron Chan.
“This leadership team reflects a mix of continuity and fresh perspectives, with two returning members joined by new faces who bring dynamic ideas and energy to the organisation,” AYS said in a statement.
Theron, a second-year Communication student at a local institution of higher learning, brings a passion for youth development, strategic communication, and social innovation to his role as president.
“I am truly honoured and grateful for the trust placed in me to lead AYS. Together with a dedicated team, I am determined to create impactful programmes that open up opportunities for youths.
“I believe every voice and idea from the younger generation matters, and together, we can drive positive change within our community,” he said in a statement.
As an independent body, AYS plans to prioritise the sustainability of youth development in Sarawak.
Starting January 2025, the organisation aims to implement a series of impactful programmes and forge strategic partnerships with youth agencies.
These initiatives are designed to provide meaningful opportunities and promote sustainable development for the younger generation.
The AGM also celebrated a significant milestone as AYS was officially registered under the Registrar of Youth (ROY), a development that strengthens its capacity to deliver impactful initiatives and reinforces its commitment to youth empowerment in Sarawak.
