KUCHING: The third edition of the DAL-HCM Kuching Pickleball League 2026 has begun, bringing together 20 teams in a competition aimed at nurturing new talent and strengthening the sport’s grassroots development in Sarawak.

Organised by the MUSC Sarawak Pickleball Club, the league officially got underway on July 11 at the MUSCS Pickleball Arena in Petra Jaya here and will run until early August, featuring teams competing across two divisions.

MUSC Sarawak Pickleball Club president Ariffin Kifle said the league has become an important platform for developing pickleball in Sarawak since its introduction three years ago.

“We hope the organisation of this league will continue to support the efforts of the Kuching Pickleball Association (KPA) in developing the sport in Sarawak, particularly in Kuching and Petra Jaya,” he said in a statement recently.

He added that over the past three years, the league has successfully provided a platform for talented players to showcase their abilities, expressing hope that it will continue to serve as a pathway for discovering and nurturing future pickleball talents.

The Division One champions will receive the Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Amar Fadillah Yusof Challenge Trophy.

The official launch ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department (Law, MA63 and State-Federal Relations) Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali, MUSC Sarawak Recreational Sports Club president Datuk Dzulkarnaen Ahmad, DAL HCM Sdn Bhd general manager Dasuki Razali, and DAL HCM Sdn Bhd operations manager Mike Jackson Tsai as well as KPA president Ruslan Bujang.
