PADAWAN: Police arrested three individuals for rioting and vandalism at a 24-hour convenience store at The Glen, Jalan Arang last night (Jun 29).

The incident has gone viral on social media after a 46-second video clip was uploaded this morning.

It depicted a group of individuals rioting and damaging various items inside the premises.

The group were seen armed with what appeared to be wooden sticks.

Padawan police chief Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi, when contacted, said police have arrested three suspects, aged between 24 and 33, for vandalising the premises.

“The case is being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code for rioting with weapons.

“No injuries were reported in the incident. Investigations are underway to identify the motive behind the incident,” he said.

Police are currently intensifying efforts to track down and detain the remaining individual involved in the incident.
