KUCHING: Police have arrested three local men allegedly involved in robbery and housebreaking cases.
According to Kuching district police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu, two suspects, aged 51 and 25, were arrested following a tipoff.
“A few items have also been seized in connection with a robbery case where an e-hailing driver was robbed on Tuesday (Mar 16) at 3.08am at Kampung Gita Baru, causing the victim to lose about RM2,850.
“Both suspects have prior records, and their urine screening tests showed that they were positive for drugs,” said Alexson.
The case is being investigated under Section 395 read together with Section 397 of the Penal Code.
In a separate case, which also took place on Mar 16 at 12.15am, police arrested a 21-year-old man at Jalan Central Timur, Kuching.
Alexson said the suspect is allegedly involved in a housebreaking case at a house under renovation.
“Remand for the suspect was approved for three days until Mar 19 for further investigation,” he said.
The case is being investigated under Section 380 of the Penal Code.
