MIRI: Three victims of separate fire incidents in the Senadin constituency received aid today (Dec 9) from Yayasan Sarawak.
The assistance was handed over by Senadin assemblyman Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin during a meeting at the Miri Resident’s Office.
The beneficiaries of this relief effort are:
- Rita Ujoh, of Lot 8360, Senadin Jaya Off Jalan Sealine, Lutong, whose house was destroyed in a fire on October 31, 2024, at 8.10 pm
- John Nari, of Lot 1708, Desaras 1A, Jalan Desaras Utama, Tudan, whose home was affected on September 10, 2024, at 8.53 am
- Salang Saien, of Lot 7809, Kampung Pasir, Lutong, who suffered a fire incident on April 20, 2024, at 2.33 pm
Speaking at the event, Lee, who is also the Sarawak Transport Minister, emphasised the importance of supporting the victims in rebuilding their lives.
“This is in addition to the aid provided by the welfare department. We hope that with this assistance, they can rebuild their homes,” he said.
The assemblyman also expressed hope that sufficient construction materials would be provided to help the victims reconstruct their homes swiftly and safely.
