KUCHING: Three people were injured after the car they were travelling in plunged into a ravine near Kampung Stengang, Jalan Bau-Lundu last Friday.
It was understood that the car went out of control before plunging into the 25-foot-deep ravine. Members of the public who witnessed the incident were able to pull one of the victims out of the car before sending the latter to Bau Hospital for treatment.
However, they were unable to do the same with the other two victims who were trapped in the vehicle.
Bau Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) dispatched nine personnel to the scene after receiving a distress call at 6.22pm and arrived at 6.42pm.
The trapped victims were extricated by rescuers shortly after and were rushed to the same hospital for further treatment.
