BETONG: A driver and his female passenger were injured after their pick-up truck crashed by the roadside along Jalan Tanjung Assam last night (Jul 20).
The accident happened at around 9.50 pm when their Toyota Hilux skidded out of control and crashed in front of Petron petrol station.
Firefighters from Betong station responded to the distress call and assisted the 35-year-old man and 36-year-old woman out of the vehicle.
Both were later taken to the hospital for further treatment. The extent of their injuries was not immediately known.
The rescue operation at 10.12 pm.
Meanwhile in Kanowit, a 62-year-old man also sustained injuries after his Perodua Viva skidded and overturned on its side near the Germai jetty at around 9.10pm.
Passers-by helped the victim out of the vehicle before he was handed over to paramedics.
Firefighters from Kanowit station later ensured there were no other victims trapped and that the scene was safe. The operation ended at 9.42 pm.
