KUCHING: Residents of Kota Sentosa can look forward to enhanced recreational facilities as assemblyman, Wilfred Yap Yau Sin, officially handed over Letters of Award for three upgrading projects worth RM295,000 on Saturday.
The handover event, attended by representatives from the Kuching South City Council (MBKS), marks the commencement of works aimed at improving public spaces throughout the constituency.
The projects, funded under Yap’s 2025 Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) allocation, will bring substantial upgrades to several local parks.
Taman Rekreasi Stampin Lorong D8A will undergo a comprehensive RM200,000 upgrade, while Taman Rekreasi Borneo Garden Phase 2 and Taman Rekreasi Stampin 12 Phase 2 will receive improvements valued at RM50,000 and RM45,000 respectively.
Yap stressed that the initiatives directly respond to community requests for better-maintained recreational areas.
“These upgrades demonstrate our commitment to meeting the needs of Kota Sentosa residents.

“Quality public spaces play a crucial role in promoting community well-being and quality of life,” he said.
The assemblyman also expressed his appreciation to MBKS for overseeing the implementation of the projects, and commended the appointed contractors for their dedication to delivering high-quality outcomes.
He assured constituents that public feedback continues to shape his development agenda, with additional improvement initiatives in the pipeline for the area.
Construction works are expected to begin soon, with completion anticipated within the specified timelines.
These upgrades form part of wider efforts to enhance urban liveability in Kota Sentosa.
