MATU: A three-metre-long python that paid a wee hour visit to a house in Kampung Bawang Matu, was caught by Civil Defence Force (APM) personnel today.

The presence of the reptile was noticed by the complainant around 2.25am.

Fearing for the safety of the residents, the authorities were subsequently contacted for assistance immediately.

APM Matu officer Lt (PA) Jumaat Akasas in a statement said a four-member team were promptly deployed to the scene to catch the snake.

Upon arriving, the team found the python slithering and quickly captured it using snake catcher tool.

The reptile was later released into its habitat far from the village.
