THE missing surveyors are found safe and sound in the jungle by the SAR members.

MUKAH: Three surveyors from a private company who got lost in the jungle were found safe yesterday.

The unfortunate incident happened when the victims known only as Ah Chin, 41, Tony, 24, and Temmy, 19, were conducting surveying and valuation works in the jungle near a power station at Jalan Ulu Telian Penakub here.

They were said to have gone to the site at 1.30pm on Monday. A police report was lodged by one of their colleagues at 7.00pm that day after the trio failed to turn up at a meeting point at around 3.00pm.

Following to the report, a search and rescue (SAR) team comprising firefighters, policemen and Civil Defence Force personnel was deployed to the location to look for the missing men. The search was later called off due to darkness.

The search operation commenced at 6.00am yesterday and the victims were found by the SAR team at 10.15am.
