KUCHING: A 19-year-old foreign woman was among three individuals arrested in separate anti-drug raids conducted around the city within less than two hours on Saturday (Feb 21).
Kuching police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said the first arrest was made at about 12.45pm at a house in Jalan Nanas Barat, where a 21-year-old local man was detained.
Police seized 40 pills believed to be Erimin 5, weighing 12.28 grams, and 10 blue plastic packets believed to contain ketamine weighing 5.40 grams, estimated to be worth RM1,880.
He tested positive for ketamine and benzo and had no prior criminal record.
At about 1.30pm in Jalan Astana, Petra Jaya, a 28-year-old local man was arrested with nine packets of suspected methamphetamine weighing 5.50 grams, estimated at RM605.
He tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine and had four previous criminal records.
The third arrest took place at about 2.05pm at a house in Jalan Green, where the 19-year-old foreign woman was detained.
Police seized 5.70 grams of suspected methamphetamine worth RM627. She also tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine and had no prior criminal record.
All the cases were investigated under Section 39A(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, and the suspects were remanded from Feb 23 to Feb 26 to assist investigations.
