SIBU: Three double-storey terrace houses caught fire at Jalan Ling Kai Cheng this afternoon (Mar 4), but all occupants are safe.
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said it received an alert about the incident at 1.46 pm.
Firefighters from the Sungai Merah and Sibu Sentral fire stations were dispatched to the scene.
“Upon arrival, three double-storey terrace houses were found on fire, and firefighters immediately carried out operations to extinguish the blaze.
“The house in the centre sustained the most damage at 70 per cent, while the houses on the left and right sustained 20 per cent damage each. No casualties were reported during the operation,” it said.

After the fire was brought under control and fully extinguished, firefighters conducted overhaul operations to ensure there were no remaining embers.
The operations ended at 2.41 pm, and firefighters returned to their respective stations.
