MIRI: Police arrested three men suspected of involvement in several motorcycle theft cases in Op Lejang in Miri yesterday afternoon.
The three suspects, aged between 26 and 40, were detained at a budget hotel at Jalan Cressandra at about 2.30pm.
According to a source, the arrests were made based on information received by a team from the Miri District Police Headquarters (CID). The police also seized a Yamaha 125Z motorcycle.
“From police check, they found that the motorcycle was using fake registration number plate and had been reported missing on January 29 in the city,” said the source.
He said the three suspects were now detained at the Central Police Station’s lock-up for further investigation.
“The case is being investigated under Section 379A of the Penal Code for stealing motorcycle,” he said.
