BAU: Five local individuals have been apprehended by the Narcotic Crime Investigation Department as they were believed to be involved in drug abuse activities.
Bau District Police Chief, P/Supt Mohd Haide A. Rahman. said the arrest took place early today at about 5 am when the police were on duty around Kampung Pangkalan, Bau.
Two men and three women, age between 31 to 46 years old were arrested on the spot.
“The five suspects were arrested by team from the Narcotic Crime Investigation Department and the district police during their operations there.
“They were believed to be involved in drug abuse activities and all five were tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine,” he said in a statement.
Prior to the arrest, all five suspects were consuming drugs a few days ago.
Two male suspects have prior criminal records involving drugs abuse activities.
They are being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952.
