MERADONG: Three women were arrested after testing positive for drugs during ‘Ops Tapis Khas’ conducted by the Meradong district police headquarters (IPD) today.
Meradong Police chief, DSP Tansli Mering, said the suspects, aged 42, 26 and 37, were detained at about 9.25 am in the Bintangor district.
He said urine screening conducted by the district’s Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division found all three positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine.
Police checks showed that two of the suspects had one prior drug-related record each, while the third had no previous record.
The case is being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
Tansli urged members of the public to report drug-related activities to the Bintangor Police Station at 084-693222.
