KUCHING: Thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are expected in several parts of Sarawak today (May 5), following an alert issued by the Malaysian Meteorological Department (METMalaysia).
The warning, which is in effect until 3pm, covers areas including Sibu (Selangau), Mukah, Bintulu, and Miri (Subis).
Residents are advised to take precautionary measures due to the forecasted weather conditions.
In addition to Sarawak, other states impacted by the warning include Perlis, Kedah (Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Pokok Sena, Padang Terap, Yan, and Pendang), Selangor, FT Kuala Lumpur, FT Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan (Seremban, Port Dickson, Rembau, and Tampin), Melaka, and Johor.
Authorities urge the public to stay informed and follow safety guidelines during the inclement weather.
