KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysians will be able to catch the 2026 FIFA World Cup live and free after national broadcaster RTM and Unifi TV were confirmed as the country’s official broadcasters.
Federal Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil said Unifi TV will air all matches live, while RTM will broadcast most of the games across its television and digital platforms, including RTM Klik.
“This offers a variety of choices to football fans in Malaysia,” he said during a press conference earlier today.
Fahmi said the government is working with the private sector to ensure the tournament is delivered with high-quality coverage for fans nationwide.
He added that plans are also underway for moderate-scale public screenings of selected matches, with sponsors expected to be announced soon.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup, hosted by Canada, Mexico and the United States, will feature 48 nations for the first time in the tournament’s history.
