KUCHING: The body of the missing seven-year-old boy who went missing in Kampung Bunga Rampai in Jalan Batu Kitang, was found floating in a nearby river at 12.15 pm on Saturday (April 15).

Bau district police acting chief ASP Jugah Aleng confirmed the body was Andrine Johnnes Anne, 7, who went missing on Friday (April 14) around 2.30 pm.

The state Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) was alerted to a call by the police on Friday (April 14) at 9.13 pm that the seven-year-old boy who has autism went missing.

It is understood that Andrine left the house through the back door of his house and went to a nearby jungle.

A search and rescue (SAR) operation was carried out and ended around 10.40 pm on Friday (April 14) after the authorities were unable to locate the boy. The SAR operation continued earlier today and ended at 1 pm.

Andrine’s body was later sent to Bau Hospital for post-mortem.
