KUCHING: The Sarawak Ministry of Transport (MOTS) celebrated the dedication, professionalism and innovation of its workforce at its annual Appreciation and Recognition Dinner 2025 held at a local hotel on Thursday night.

The event honoured recipients of the Excellent Service Award (APC), recognising six public servants who have demonstrated outstanding commitment, integrity and professionalism in executing key transport initiatives across the state.

Minister of Transport Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin described the event as a reminder that the ministry’s achievements are the result of collective effort.

“Tonight, we are not just celebrating accomplishments; we are acknowledging that every success is built on dedication, teamwork and a shared commitment to advancing Sarawak,” he said.

Lee also highlighted the contributions of younger officers, noting that their energy, ideas and digital skills are crucial in driving innovation and implementing Sarawak’s ambitious transport agenda under the Post COVID Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030.

At the same time, he paid tribute to officers retiring this year, recognising their years of dedicated service and contributions to the development of Sarawak’s transport sector.

“This event reflects our culture of recognition, discipline and continuous improvement.

“It is a celebration of our shared journey and a motivation for all officers to continue striving for excellence in service to the people of Sarawak,” he added.

The evening brought together senior officials, strategic partners and staff from across MOTS, reinforcing camaraderie and the ministry’s commitment to nurturing talent and recognising excellence in public service.

Also present at the event were Deputy Minister of Transport (River & Marine) Datuk Henry Harry Jinep, Deputy Minister of Transport (Road and Aviation) Datuk Dr Jerip Susil, and Permanent Secretary to the ministry, Datuk Wong Hee Sieng.
