MIRI: The City Council (MCC) will be carrying out scheduled tree pruning and cutting works at several major roads in the city from Jun 20 to 31.
According to the council’s notice, the affected areas include road verges along Jalan Kuala Baram By-pass, specifically from Industrial Training Institute (ILP) Miri to Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (SJK) Chung Hua Tudan.
The works will be conducted in two sessions daily — from 9 am to 11 am and 2.30 pm to 4 pm.
Separately, tree pruning activities will also take place along Jalan Tanjung Lobang and Jalan Bakam from Jun 23 to 28, covering the stretch from Tanjung Police Station to Kampung Luak traffic light, including Luak shop lot and Tamu Luak.

“Tree pruning is carried out side by side of the Jalan Tanjung Lobang and Jalan Bakam,” the council said.
Road users are advised to avoid the affected roads and walkways during the scheduled works for safety reasons.
“Miri City Council will not be held liable for any damage, injury, or loss that may occur in these areas,” it added.
All works will be postponed and rescheduled in the event of unfavourable weather conditions.
