KUCHING: Former Canadian prime minister and United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Advocates co-chair Justin Trudeau will not be participating in the Sustainable and Renewable Energy Forum (SAREF) 4.0, Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) confirmed today (Aug 19).
In a statement, SEB said Trudeau had initially been scheduled to share his perspectives on climate policy and renewable energy initiatives.
However, it has since been confirmed that he will not be attending the forum.
“We appreciate his well wishes for the success of the forum which continues to serve as a platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration, bringing together diverse global experts and leaders on renewable energy initiatives focused on a common goal,” the statement said.
The biennial forum, to be held on Sept 3 and 4 at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK), will still feature a diverse range of international and regional experts.
This includes leaders in renewable energy, climate policy, and sustainable development, ensuring broad dialogue on sustainable energy, climate resilience, and inclusive growth.
Organised by SEB, SAREF has positioned Sarawak as an important hub for global dialogue on the green agenda, bringing together expertise and perspectives to strengthen commitments toward sustainable development.
