LAWAS: Trusan is accelerating its development agenda with a strong focus on infrastructure, as major projects including the Sarawak-Sabah Link Road (SSLR) gain momentum to transform connectivity and boost local economic growth.
Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said Phase 1 of the SSLR has reached 70 per cent completion, positioning it as a key catalyst for future development in the Trusan area.
He added that RM47 million has been allocated this year under the Trusan local development plan, with emphasis on critical infrastructure, the construction of a Trusan sub-district office, and a new mosque.
“Commercial facilities such as the Anjung Usahawan and PETROS Station are also being developed, alongside plans to turn Trusan into a wetland park,” he said during a visit to the residence of Political Secretary to the Premier of Sarawak, Awangku Jienal Abedin Datuk Pengiran Jawa, on Wednesday.
On housing, Awang Tengah said the first phase will see the development of 50 housing lots, with plans to expand to nearly 100 lots, including village resettlement.
Meanwhile, the Bukit Sari assemblyman highlighted the importance of Hari Raya celebration as a platform to strengthen unity among communities of different races and religions.
“I hope the spirit of unity, mutual respect, and tolerance will continue to be nurtured to ensure Trusan’s continued prosperity,” he said.
