KUCHING: Tsuwave claimed the inaugural Kuching Dodgeball Social League (KDSL) 2025 championship title after a high-stakes grand finale on Thursday.
The final, held at Arena Sukan, saw Tsuwave edge out Crocodoodle 6-4 in a tense and closely contested match.
Kuching Dodgeball Association (KDA) President, Darren Robin, expressed his satisfaction with the league’s successful debut season.
“KDSL ended with a very huge hit. I am very happy with how the tournament turned out.
“This tournament is a good point moving forward as it teaches the players that training is important, and that every shot counts during the tournament,” he said in a statement.
The statement further said both teams delivered a finale-worthy performance that kept fans on edge.

“I’m very happy, but I couldn’t have done it without the team’s help,” said Tsuwave captain, Felix Isadore David.
He added that strong support and teamwork were keys to their journey to the top of the league standings.
Teammate, Enrique Tan Pan Quan, also credited their weekly training sessions as a major reason behind their success.
“We trained really hard on Mondays, and the training showed that our hard work pays off.
“There’s no shortcut to success and I’m proud of my team,” he said.
Crocodoodle, led by Bryan Lim, finished second after putting up a tough fight and pushing Tsuwave throughout the final.
“Initially there were a lot of mistakes but later on we gathered ourselves and set our own pacing.
“We are new and hopefully with enough training, we can be better in the future,” said Bryan.
Supernova took third place after a narrow 6-5 win against Crocodily in the league’s third-place playoff match.
“To be honest, we expected to compete for first or second place,” said Supernova’s Kelvin Chan after the match.
“Crocodily didn’t give us a chance to breathe, but we never gave up and it showed.”
Individual recognition was also given to standout players for their performances throughout the season-long competition.
Crocodily’s captain, Ian Woodford, received the Male Most Valuable Player (MVP) award for his consistent leadership and performance.
The Female MVP award went to Rofina Rhodea Konsil from Tsuwave for her outstanding contribution on the court.
KDA asserted that the season’s conclusion marks a turning point for dodgeball here, with momentum now building for future events.
They also plan to introduce youth dodgeball clinics, and are exploring the possibility of hosting a regional tournament this year.
“As medals were handed out and players celebrated, one thing was clear, Kuching dodgeball is no longer in the shadows.
“It is rising. It is roaring. And it is uniting a whole new generation of athletes,” the statement added.
