KUCHING: The Royal Malaysian Air Force (TUDM) will establish a board of inquiry to determine the cause of the aircraft incident that occurred at Kuching International Airport (KIA) on Sunday (June 23).
In a statement, TUDM confirmed the incident involved a CN235-220M aircraft from No. 1 Squadron, Kuching Air Base, which experienced a nose landing gear malfunction while landing at approximately 11.15 am.
The aircraft had just completed a logistics flight from Labuan and Kota Kinabalu when the issue occurred.
“All crew members and passengers on board were unharmed,” said the statement, adding that the board of inquiry would be formed to investigate the cause of the incident.
Earlier, the incident led to a temporary closure of KIA’s runway and disruption of commercial flight operations until the aircraft was safely removed and the runway cleared for use.
