TUNIS: Tunisia strongly condemned the storming of its ambassador’s residence in the Sudanese capital Khartoum by armed individuals, the Tunisian Foreign Ministry said on Sunday.
“Tunisia expressed today its strong condemnation of the armed individuals who stormed the residence of the Tunisian ambassador in Khartoum, looted his property and tampered with its contents,” Xinhua quoted the ministry as saying in a statement.
“The attack is a flagrant violation of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and a serious violation of the inviolability of the headquarters of diplomatic missions,” it added, meaning diplomatic and consular premises.
Tunisia reiterated its firm position for an immediate end to the fighting in Sudan. It expressed its full support for all regional and international efforts aimed at stabilising the armistice and returning to dialogue to get out of the crisis. – BERNAMA-XINHUA
