KUCHING: Tupong Assemblyman Datuk Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman visited two homes in his constituency recently damaged by a strong storm, belonging to Sulaiman Waslie and Fatimah Johari.
The visit was aimed at assessing the extent of the damage and providing moral support to the affected families.
The storm caused severe damage to part of Sulaiman’s house wall, while Fatimah’s home also sustained structural damage that posed safety risks.
During the visit, Fazzrudin discussed follow-up actions with local authorities to coordinate repairs and ensure assistance could be provided promptly.
Both residents expressed gratitude for his concern and swift response.
In a separate engagement, Fazzrudin also inspected the construction site of a riverbank protection project at Kampung Tupong Batu.
He said the project was a crucial measure to address long-standing riverbank erosion that had affected nearby settlements.
The infrastructure, he added, would serve as a proactive step to safeguard the village from future erosion and flooding risks.
