KUCHING: It was history in the making for Sarawak when an announcement was made on Thursday that Sarawak’s own television station, TVS, will make its debut on Astro.

It is also worth noting that Sarawak is the first state to have its own television station.

TVS, which premiered today, can now be viewed on Astro channel 122 and is accessible to all audiences across Malaysia.

This was also in conjunction with the Head of State’s 84th birthday celebration, which made it all the more special for TVS as it had its first live telecast.

With a wide variety of shows available on TVS, there is bound to be something for everyone to enjoy.

One of those programmes is ‘Borneo From Above’, a short documentary on what is happening in Sarawak, and also ‘Komuniti Kita’, which focuses on the communities in the state.;

There are shows like ‘Lucu Eh’ as well as ‘Sada Kenyalang’ — a talk show about local Iban artists and their music — for those who lean more towards entertainment.

For those who are conscious about their health, ‘Sarawak Nutrition’ and ‘Anda Sihat’ are the shows to watch to get tips and insights on living a healthy life.

Another show to look out for is ‘Iban Global’ — a 30-minute talk show which focuses on views and perspectives from Iban community leaders and will be hosted by Priscilla John Pillai.

To keep viewers updated, there will also be news segment which will be read in four languages (Malay, English, Mandarin, and Iban) and will start from 9am to 11.30pm.

It is indeed exciting to see how TVS will perform in the future and it is hoped that the television station will continue bringing fresh, inspiring, and quality content to its audience.
