Two cable theft suspects nabbed

BETONG: Two suspects both in their thirties were arrested by the Special Action Force, Criminal Investigation Division (BSJ) Betong District Police Headquarters (IPD) in a raid at Jalan Rh. Bungkang Ulu Padeh. Both suspects were believed to be actively involved in stolen cable around the Betong area. During the raid, police also found evidence which was believed to be used to commit the crimes.

Among the items were a black sling bag containing two machetes, two small blades, two sparrows, two wire cutters, a flier, and 10 sparrows of various sizes, flat screwdriver, five modified iron rods, hand gloves, five rolls of copper wires and five fastened straps, five copper straps, two cotton gray and black bags and a Honda Wave motorcycle.

According to Betong District Pol ice chief (KPD) , Deput y Superintendent Fahdil Antum Abdullah, statistics on cable theft case this year are not very serious.

However, it is clear that the police will double the patrolling and identify the involved syndicates. He also confirmed that the two suspects were remanded for four days to assist the investigation and the case was investigated under Section 431 (a) of the Penal Code (Cable Treason).
