KOTA SAMARAHAN: Police detected two drivers under the influence of alcohol, and arrested another man for suspected drug offences, during overnight traffic enforcement operations in Kota Samarahan early today.
Acting Kota Samarahan Police Chief, DSP Barry William, said the operations, which incorporated ‘Ops Mabuk’ and ‘Ops Bersepadu Dalaman’, was conducted from 12:01 am to 3:00 am along the Kota Samarahan Expressway.
He said police inspected 85 vehicles and 88 individuals during the operations.
“Two local men, aged in their 30s and 50s, tested positive for alcohol after undergoing screening using the SD2+ breathalyser.


“A 33-year-old man driving a saloon car was also arrested under Sections 15(1)(a) and 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for suspected drug offences,” he said.
Police also issued 29 traffic summonses for various offences detected during the operations.
Barry said enforcement operations would continue from time to time to ensure compliance with traffic laws, enhance road safety, and reduce offences involving driving under the influence and drugs.
