MIRI: A local man and a foreign woman here were apprehended in a recent drug bust.
Miri OCPD ACP Alexson Naga Chabu reported that during Saturday raid, approximately 1,700 grams of substances, believed to be Ecstasy and valued at around RM32,400, were confiscated. These drugs are suspected to be intended for distribution in the local market.
“The suspects, aged 23 and 48, were arrested around 4.35 pm by the police,” said Alexson.
Following their arrest, the two individuals were brought before the Miri Court and are currently being held on a five-day remand to assist with the ongoing investigation.
The case is under scrutiny under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, with a focus on the suspects’ alleged involvement in drug trafficking.
