LUNDU: Two non-permanent houses were destroyed in a fire at Kampung Sampadi here late Tuesday night (Feb 24).
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from the Lundu station were dispatched to the scene, about 24km away, following a distress call at 10.42pm.
The blaze involved two wooden houses measuring 20×20 feet and 15×20 feet respectively, both of which were completely gutted.
Firefighters deployed a 200-foot hose line with one nozzle to prevent the fire from spreading to a third house nearby.
The fire was brought under control at 11.20pm, and overhaul works were carried out to ensure it was fully extinguished.
The operation ended at 11.49pm. No injuries were reported.
